Vinca Vine plants are more commonly called Periwinkle and is a fast-growing vine that is easy-to-grow and requires very little attention and maintenance, except for regular watering. Actually, it is heat and drought-tolerant, so though you can’t ignore it completely, you can skip a watering without it perishing. Vinca Vine, pronounced VINK-uh, is considered a half-hardy perennial in zones 5 through 11 and can withstand even the Colorado winter if you cover your plants during periods of harsh, freezing winds or extended periods of sub-freezing weather. Most commonly used as a spiller and filler in hanging containers or baskets, Periwinkle is also grown as a border plant, edging or groundcover. Of course, all plants will benefit from regular feeding. We recommend Espoma Plant-tone® or Jungle Flora to ensure your Vinca Vines will perform their best.
