Twisted Dart Ornamental Grass Flower Seeds

SKU: SFS-ORNG-TWID-ER
Our ‘Twisted Dart’ Ornamental Grass Flower Seed is an inspired combination of Blue Dart juncus and Juncus effuses spiralis, or curly juncus, a shorter version of Twisted Arrow’s concept, though better suited to container planting, especially in the south where its growth is more compact. A Fantastic Foliage® selection, this dwarf combines blues with greens, the texture being straight and twisted and short of stature, while being big on character! The seed is multi-seed pelleted for ease of planting, each pellet having 3 to 7 seeds. Approximately 15 pellets per each hand-filled packet. More details...

Twisted Dart Ornamental Grass Flower Seeds

Ornamental grasses fall into the “warm season” and “cool season” category, warm season grasses beginning their active growth in the spring and reaching their peak in late summer or fall; cool season grasses beginning their heaviest growth in late winter or early spring, reaching their peak before the onset of high summer temperatures, often not growing at all during the summer, but resuming their growth as the temperatures cool in the fall. Easy to start from seed, most gardeners will recommend starting them indoors in seed starting trays, this manner providing the easiest means by which to hand-select the biggest and strongest and to most closely monitor moisture and growth. You can, of course, sow them outdoors as well, the spring being the best time for either type of grass. Seedlings and new transplants will always require more regular watering, until they are strong and well established, and regular weeding is a must while the seedlings and young plants are gaining their hold in the garden. Mulching will help to prevent weeds and retain moisture.
