Preferring poor soils, it will grow to an airy, informal, 3-feet tall, is quite drought tolerant and doesn’t mind being ignored, the perfect herb to grow where nothing else will grow, lest you forget it’s there! Due to its considerably milder flavor, Russian Tarragon can be used fresh in salads and the young, early spring stems can be prepared as an alternative to asparagus.
