Son Lantana

The Son™ Series of Lantana brings even more improvement to this wonderful tropical plant. As with all Lantanas, the blossoms change color as they mature, so each plant can be covered with flowers of varying shades, all season long. The Son series, though, has taken it a step further and is the most shrub-like of the species, reaching heights and spread of three to five feet!

The Son series also has the same heat, drought and salt tolerances, but in trials has proven to be more cold tolerant than any other series, thereby extending its perennial growth zone. If you’ve planted Lantana in the past as an annual and you live in a “border” zone, you might want to try covering your Son Lantanas for the winter, either with a commercially-made cover or with straw or mulch. The Son Series will also tolerate more shade than other varieties, but performs best in full sun.
