Bonfire Begonia

The Bonfire Begonia plant gets its name from its dazzling orangey-red, flame-colored blossoms and is one of the lowest maintenance varieties of begonias. Its glossy leaves require no additional pruning for successful growth; simply pinch spent blossoms to encourage more.

The Bonfire Begonia will grow equally well in full or partial sun. As with all begonias, they prefer good air circulation and consistently moist, not soggy, soil. You can grow the fiery Bonfire Begonia outdoors among other plantings for that "just right” splash of color your landscape needs, or grow in a myriad of containers, moving them indoors during the colder months for yearlong enjoyment.

Its interesting green foliage has serrated edges highlighted by a red margin, and a neat, bushy growth habit. Quickly coming into bloom in late spring, this Tuberous Begonia continues to shower you with bright red-orange blooms from spring all summer long, right up until late fall. The 'Bonfire® Chocolate Red' Begonia Plant blooms abundantly with deep reddish-orange blossoms atop dark "chocolate" foliage. Blooming from late spring to late fall when planted outside, the serrated dark leaves range in color from dark chocolate to deep plum, a quite dramatic and unique Tuberous Begonia.
