Polemonium Flower Seeds |

Polemonium Flower Seeds are a popular perennial, also known as Jacob’s Ladder. Native to Northern California, Northern and Central Europe and Northern Asia, in hotter climates, it will require shade and may quit blooming completely in temperatures above 90°F, often looking quite dead, but perking up and blooming again when the temperatures cool towards fall. Named for its antique-ladder-like leaflets, the foliage is somewhat fern-like, atop which wonderfully delicate-looking stems hold flowers bobbing and swaying in light breezes. Polemonium, pronounced poe-lih-MOE-nee-um, is normally found in shades of lavender blue, pink, yellow and white, with sometimes variegated foliage. The blossoms are unique in their structure, having conspicuous and quite showy stamens atop stems so slender as to allow the flowers to nod in the slightest breeze. Their delicate appearance aside, Jacob’s Ladder is actually quite hardy and adaptable, its nemesis being too much water. Good drainage is a must-have! As with any flowering perennial, good nutrition is a must. We suggest Jungle Flora or Espoma Flower-tone®, both of which are approved for organic gardening and are safe for your family, pets, livestock and water habitats, as well as being specially formulated for blooming plants. We have had reports that bellflowers can be sensitive to chemical fertilizers, so you may want to use those with caution. Each order of our fresh Polemonium seeds is filled by hand, put into a resealable plastic bag and then placed into a labeled seed packet. It is our goal to provide our customers the best in freshness and quality. |
