GroundHog Radish Seed

groundhog radish seed for cover crop

GroundHog™ Radish Seed produces a forage and cover crop farmers and ranchers are realizing has exceptional soil building abilities, as well as providing late fall and early winter forage for livestock and deer.

A fast grower, the broad-leafed canopy and root mass is an efficient weed suppressor and serves to deter soil erosion. The quickly growing deep roots “mine” nitrogen and other essential nutrients, rebuilding the soil as they decompose during the winter and early spring. With a faster than average decomposition rate, the resulting biomass also loosens the soil, improving water and air infiltration for the crop to follow.

Growing Groundhog radish is a relatively inexpensive and labor saving cover crop with far reaching benefits. Read Groundhog Radish-A Smart Choice Cover Crop, for complete information. The recommended seeding rate is 10 to 12 pounds per acre on new pasture; less when mixed.
