Each packet of Certified Organic Gourd Seed has approximately 25 seeds. Gourd seed can be planted directly into the garden when all danger of frost has past. Starting seeds indoors will insure prime conditions, you will want temperatures between 60 °F to 100 °F. Under the correct conditions, it takes 4-8 days for the gourd seed to germinate. Seeds should be started 3 weeks before your transplant date.
In order to grow the healthiest gourds, the pH level of your garden soil should be 6.5.-6.8. A soil tester will take the guess work out of determining the pH levels.

Pollination requires male and female flowers. Females can be recognized by small, immature fruit at the base of the flower and will usually bloom later than male flowers.
