Organic Beet Seed

Each packet of Certified Organic Beet Seed has approximately 500 seeds (unless specified otherwise), which plants a 75-foot row and produces approximately 100-pounds of fresh beets.

Beet seed can be planted directly into the garden soil with a garden seeder, or germinated indoors to produce seedlings for transplanting. If starting seeds indoors, you should start them 4 weeks before your transplant date. Beet seeds germinate when soil temperatures range betweenn 40-85°F. Under optimal conditions, it takes 4-8 days for the beet seed to germinate.

Garden soil pH should be between 6.0-7.5. A soil tester will take the guess work out of determining the pH levels. Beet plants can tolerate temperature extremes, including cold, short of severe freezing, so they make an exceptional fall garden addition as well. Planting in 3-week intervals throughout the season, you will have beets into early winter. See our Beet Harvest Tips page for complete harvesting instructions.

All of our Beet seeds are OPEN-POLLINATED unless otherwise specified as a HYBRID. All of our organic been seeds are non-GMO!
