Angelonia Flower Seeds

Our Angelonia Flower Seeds are also called Summer Snapdragon and bloom over an extended period, often four to six weeks in temperate climates and even longer in zones 8 through 11, where the blooming period can be from May to October. This evergreen perennial stands erect with serrated, pointed leaves, which some say smells like apples. The Serena Series is one of the few that can currently be grown from seed, though you can expect more development in the future.

Angelonia, pronounced an-jel-OH-nee-uh, is native to Mexico and the West Indies. Once established, Angelonia is moderately drought tolerant and in areas where it is grown as an annual, is often planted in containers and brought indoors for the winter. Both the foliage and blossoms are cold tolerant to 30°F. If it happens to grow leggy, you can cut back some or all of the tallest upright stems, even when covered in flowers, to encourage bushier growth, sometimes doubling in density in a week. Cutting back is actually highly recommended, so keep lots of tall vases handy! As is the case with almost all blooming plants, the best performance is guaranteed with regular feedings of Jungle Flora or Espoma Flower-tone®, both of which are organically rich and formulated for blooming plants.

Each order of our fresh Angelonia seeds is filled by hand, put into a resealable plastic bag and then placed into a labeled seed packet. It is our goal to provide our customers the best in freshness and quality.
