Watermelons are high in Vitamins A, B6 and C, citrulline, as well as fiber and potassium. They are also low in calories and high in nutrition and contain more lycopene per serving than tomatoes. When your watermelons are ripe, they will have the following characteristics—which takes the guess work out of harvesting.
If you purchase a seedless variety; be aware they cannot pollinate themselves, you must inter-plant with a seeded melon. We recommend one seeded watermelon plant for every three seedless plants. The main pest of watermelons is the Cucumber Beetle, to control simply apply organic Diatomaceous Earth. We grow our watermelon plants in larger pots, ensuring a more vigorous root system. Plants ship according to our Spring Shipping Schedule. We guarantee our vegetable starter plants to arrive alive, ready to thrive. |
