Dracaena Plants

Dracaena plants have traditionally been considered houseplants; however they are now finding favor with container gardeners to provide height and texture for their annuals. After performing so well outside, they are then being moved inside for the fall and winter months. Two plants for the price of one!


Dracaena plants, pronounced druh-SEE-nuh, and often called Dragon Tree or Madagascar Dragon Tree, will tolerate full morning sun, but will do best in partial or light shade during the “dog days” of summer or in the afternoons in warmer climates. Keep the soil evenly moist and fertilize monthly with a liquid fertilizer to encourage the healthiest growth.
