Phlox Flower Seeds come in both annual and perennial varieties, as well as in what is known as Garden Phlox and Creeping Phlox varieties. A great plant for beginners, largely due to their ease of germination and care-free growth habits, Phlox are also quite heat-resistant, so can tolerate the warmer temperatures of the south and southwest. Phlox, pronounced flocks, flower seed can be directly sown into the garden once the danger of frost has passed, or can be started indoors in seeding trays 6 to 8 weeks prior to transplanting outdoors, the major difference being that starting them indoors will result in earlier blooms. A staple in American gardens for well over 100 years; they are available in varying heights, come in a wide variety of colors, bloom long in the garden, are long-lived as a cut flower and rarely, if ever, need staking, as well as being relatively pest and disease free. Water soluble, slow release fertilizers are the best way to feed most blooming plants. If grown in containers, their need for good nutrition is even higher. We recommend Jungle Flora or Espoma Flower-tone®, both of which are approved for organic gardening and are safe for your family, pets, livestock and water habitats, as well as being specially formulated for blooming plants. Each order of our fresh Phlox seeds is filled by hand, put into a resealable plastic bag and then placed into a labeled seed packet. It is our goal to provide our customers the best in freshness and quality. |
