Organic Tyee Spinach Seed is a semi-savoyed variety, which simply indicates the type of leaves-only slightly rumpled; it makes this spinach easier to clean than a savoyed-type. Slow to bolt and cold-tolerant, many gardeners grow this variety through all four seasons, even over-wintering it in temperate climates. Tyee, pronounced Tie-ee, is a hybrid with very distinctive, dark green leaves with superior resistance to downy mildew, race 1 and 3, also known as blue mold.
