Nierembergia Flower Seeds

Our Nierembergia Flower Seeds bear a versatile, low-growing, spreading mound topped by masses of blossoms from early summer through the fall. Most widely grown as an annual, Nierembergia, also known as Cupflower or Cup Flower, is considered a tender perennial in zones 7 through 11.

Nierembergia, pronounced neer-um-BURG-ee-uh, has finely textured foliage with stiff, linear leaves only about 1/2-inch long. Multiple stems will hold the 1-inch flowers above the foliage, its low growing and nicely trailing habit making it ideal for borders, edgings and rock gardens; its drought tolerance and ability to thrive in hot climates making it an exceptional xeriscaping candidate. Not minding a bit of crowding, you can also use the cupflower as a low-growing, flowering ground cover. As with most flowering plants, it takes a lot of energy to produce these pretty blossoms; we recommend a regular feeding with Espoma Flower-tone® or Jungle Flora, both of which are approved for organic gardening, are formulated for blooming plants and are safe for use around your family and pets, as well as being safe for the environment.

Each order of our fresh Nierembergia seeds is filled by hand, put into a resealable plastic bag and then placed into a labeled seed packet. It is our goal to provide our customers the best in freshness and quality.
