Feast II Ryegrass

Feast II Ryegrass Seed for Sale

Feast II Ryegrass is a short rotation annual ryegrass created by Pasture Perfect® that has exceptional palatability, very high sugar content, good rust resistance and vigorous growth and regrowth. Feast II Ryegrass is an LAH™ (Low Aftermath Heading) variety of annual ryegrass. After the main flush of seed head production has occurred, usually around May, grazing or cutting will result in lush, vegetative growth, as opposed to producing more seed heads that reduce the forage and nutritional value, which occurs in other non-LAH ryegrasses.

Feast II Ryegrass is a tetraploid ryegrass that was bred primarily for grazing. Feast II also has wider leaves and is more heat and drought tolerant than many other ryegrasses. Feast II responds well to broadcast planting, so can be sown just about any time of the year with rapid results. Many farmers also use this variety as a final year transition or establishment crop for alfalfa.

The recommended seeding rate is 30 to 45 pounds per acre on new pasture or 20 to 30 pounds per acre when renovating or overseeding existing pasture.
