Diascia Flower Seeds and the flowers they produce are native to southern Africa and a distant relative of the snapdragon. Available in both perennial and annual varieties, these plants, also known as Twinspur, or Twin Spur, have two, normally downward pointing spurs behind each blossom, similar to a Columbine. Most varieties will trail nicely, while some may grow more upright.
Diascia, pronounced dye-ASS-ee-uh, flower seed can be directly sown into the garden in warm climates or can be started indoors. Fast becoming a favorite in the U.S., Twinspur is a short-lived, tender perennial most often grown as an annual. Hybridization has resulted in more prolific bloomers and exceptional coloration, it being widely used for containers and hanging baskets. For the best performance while blooming we recommend regular, consistent feeding with Jungle Flora or Espoma Flower-tone®, both of which are organically rich and formulated for blooming plants.
