Aster Flower Seeds

Aster Flower Seeds grow up to be the stars of the late summer and fall garden, though newer cultivars are being cultivated that bloom earlier, providing fanciful color and texture to your summer garden as well.

Aster, pronounced ASS-ter, gets its name from the Latin word for “star” and has everything to do with these round, daisy-like blossoms with layered rays extending outwards from the warm golden center. In terms of height, they can be from 8-inches to 8-feet high, depending upon the variety and will attract butterflies and honey bees. Cool moist summers with cooler night temperatures will make the Aster the happiest. For the best performance while blooming we recommend regular feeding with Jungle Flora or Espoma Flower-tone®, both of which are organically rich and formulated for blooming plants.

Each order of our fresh Aster seeds is filled by hand, put into a resealable plastic bag and then placed into a labeled seed packet. It is our goal to provide our customers the best in freshness and quality.

This particular variety has shaggy, chrysanthemum-like flower heads in 6 exciting colors, including azure, purple, purply-blue, deep rose, pink, light blue and white. Ideal for cut flower bouquets, let the kids get involved with planting and growing these. There is nothing like colorful asters to light the fire of a young person’s mind! Our ‘Matsumoto Mix’ Aster Flower Seeds is also called the China Aster and has 15 delectable colors! Just think of the cut flower arrangements you can make and how brilliantly these colors will brighten up your landscape! Matsumoto Asters are a ‘princess’ type of blossom, very closely resembling the stars this marvelous plant is named for. This variety is also very heat tolerant and resistant to fusarium. 2-inch blossoms in amazing, eye-catching colors rise on sturdy stems that are absolutely perfect for cutting. Pot n’ Patio Mix Aster Flower Seeds

Our ‘Pot n’ Patio Mix’ Aster Flower Seeds yield a dwarf variety ideal for pots on the patio, as the name implies. Growing to only 6-inches in height, the 3-inch blossoms liberally cover these dwarfish plants when in full bloom. This formula mix includes a random selection of those signature, shaggy, bluish-purple, rosy-pink, cerise and white flowers. Approximately 30 seeds per each hand-filled packet.

Our ‘Powderpuff Mix’ Aster Flower Seeds features a mixture of fully double, striking blossoms that are borne upon 2-foot stems that are ideal for your cutting garden. These easy to grow asters will produce large, chrysanthemum-like blossoms in shades of red, violet, pink, white, purple and rose. Often mistakenly referred to as an annual, this is considered a perennial in all but the coldest and hottest areas of the country. Asters are a must-have for the cutting garden!
